The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Good Neighbor Next Door Program** is an offer for full-time law enforcement officers, pre-kindergarten through 12th grade teachers, firefighters and emergency medical technicians who meet HUD requirements.
It gives eligible participants a 50% discount from the purchase price of a home located in a revitalization area.
Program Highlights & Requirements:
- Eligible, single-family homes located in revitalization areas are listed exclusively for sale through the Good Neighbor Next Door Sales Program
- Participants must commit to live in the property for 36 months as their sole residence*
- Participants must sign a second mortgage for the discount amount. No repayment is required if you occupy the residence for 3 years
When using FHA-insured financing, the borrower may purchase a HUD REO (real estate owned) property with a minimum down payment of $100.
